Period Undies: First Period Ready Pack
For the day it happens, wherever she is.
Two pairs of her period briefs and a silicone leakproof bag, so she has a plan before she needs one. It lives in her school bag and she forgets about it until the day she really, really doesn't.
The bag is the clever part. She changes, the used pair goes in, it seals, and nothing in her bag knows about it. No plastic bag, no wrapping it in jumper sleeves, no asking anyone for help.
What's in the pack
- 2 x First Period bikini briefs
- 1 x Silicone leakproof bag to seal and carry
Why mums buy this one
- It's the conversation and the solution in one object
- Sits in her bag ready, so the first time isn't a scramble
- Gives her a way to handle it herself, at school, without telling anyone
- Makes a genuinely good gift for a girl who hasn't started yet
The details
- Absorbency: Medium plus, each pair holds up to 10 to 20ml, roughly 3 to 4 tampons
- Four layers: cotton lining, absorbent layer, waterproof layer, fabric outer
- PFAS free
- Colour: Black
- Reusable, wash and wear
- Love Luna, Australian designed and owned
Washing them
Rinse in cold water first, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang to dry. Skip the fabric softener, bleach and the dryer. They wreck the waterproof layer.
Picking her size
Go by her waist measurement rather than her age. If she is between sizes, go up.
| Size | Age guide | Waist |
|---|---|---|
| 8/10 | 10 to 11 years | 59 to 61cm |
| 10/12 | 11 to 12 years | 61 to 63cm |
| 12/14 | 12 to 13 years | 63 to 66cm |
| 14/16 | 12 to 14 years | 66 to 69cm |
10/12 and 12/14 are the sizes most girls land on. If she measures above 14/16, the Love Luna women's range picks up from there.
